Welcome to the characteristic Koloniehuisje of the Society of Benevolence. A total of 430 colony houses have stood in this area. This Koloniehuisje in Frederiksoord can be visited together with the Kolonieschooltje and is part of the outdoor museum of the Colonies of Benevolence. Entrance tickets are available at Museum De Proefkolonie or the Huygens Huys in the former post office.
Originally, this house had a simple brick living area with bedsteads and a wooden back house with a threshing area and stable. Over the years, it was adapted to the demands of the times. Of the 430 colony houses, about 50 have survived, 14 of which are on the national heritage list. Go on an adventure in the Colonies of Benevolence and discover the unique story.
