Tha Pho Fortress

Source: Ayutthaya Historical Research

Tha Pho Fortress is a large bastion fortification on the northwestside of the City of Lopburi. There were eight bastions along the inner city wall of Lopburi. The fortifications were designed by the French engineer de la Mare who was part of the first French Embassy to Siam under de Chaumont and de Choisy in 1685.
