Bron: Willem Vandenameele
Blas Cabrera y Felipe (May 20, 1878 – August 1, 1945) was a Spanish physicist who received his baccalaureate degree in La Laguna. He worked in the field of experimental physics with a focus on the magnetic properties of matter . He is considered one of Spain's greatest scientists and one of the founders of the study of natural sciences in his country.
He first studied law but later science.
Cabrera hosted Albert Einstein during his visit to Spain in 1923. At the request of Einstein and Marie Curie, Cabrera was appointed member of the 6th Scientific Committee of the Solvay Conference. These triennial conferences brought together the world's best physicists. Cabrera participated in the 1930 Solvay Conference with a paper entitled “The Magnetic Properties of Matter”.
