The Mesa House was built in the mid-18th century and then remodeled in a historicist style, giving it its current appearance in the early 20th century.
From the original construction, the facade has been preserved with the coat of arms of the Mesa family , descendants of the conquerors of Tenerife, who received important shares in the division of the land. The interesting marble coat of arms bears a crown that reminds us that the family was decorated with two titles of the Margraviate of Torre Hermosa in the 17th century and the Margraviate of Casa Hermosa in the 18th century.
It also bears the date 1599 in memory of Captain Lope de Mesa's participation in the defense of Gran Canaria against the Dutch pirate Pieter van der Does in that year.
