El dominio en Reigersbosdreef es conocido por diferentes nombres: Sterrenhof, Reigershof, Hof van Delft o Hof Legrelle. La familia Van Delft mandó construir el castillo y posee el dominio desde el siglo XVI. La familia Legrelle es el actual residente. El nombre Reigershof indica la importancia de esta área para esta ave. El bosque junto al castillo era a principios del siglo XX un hábitat importante para una colonia de garzas, que incluso pertenecía a una de las colonias más grandes de Europa Occidental. Sin embargo, la población de garzas ha disminuido drásticamente en las últimas décadas.
