En el Canal Bossuit-Kortrijk, los barcos en Moen inicialmente iban por debajo de la tierra: tenían que atravesar un túnel de 611 metros. Durante las obras en el canal en la década de 1970, ese túnel fue sustituido por un canal abierto. Esto generó 225,000 camiones de arcilla que se vertieron en una zona agrícola junto al canal.
En 1988, el área de 26 hectáreas fue transferida a la Agencia de Naturaleza y Bosques y en 2001 se abrió al público. Ahora puedes pasear por una hermosa y diversa zona verde, que incluye bosques, praderas, estanques y juncales. Los ponis Shetland son los cortacéspedes de servicio. Puedes explorar el bosque con la ruta de senderismo Orveyt o la red de senderismo 'Tierras de Mortagne'.
