Poederlee es una división municipal de Lille. Poederlee era anteriormente, a diferencia de las otras divisiones municipales de Lille, una jurisdicción libre y más tarde fue elevada a baronía. Poederlee fue un municipio autónomo hasta la reorganización municipal de 1977. La explicación de la parte Poeder: En la ley saliana se encuentra entre las palabras germánicas del texto legal la palabra podero para un ternero o potro que sin duda está relacionado con el francés poultre y el español potro ‘potro’. La misma palabra parece estar presente en los nombres de los lugares Poederooijen y Poederlee.
