Surice es una aldea en el municipio belga de Philippeville, ubicada en el suroeste de la provincia de Namur, la localidad cuenta con no más de 500 habitantes. Hasta el 1 de enero de 1977, fue un municipio independiente. Al comienzo de la Primera Guerra Mundial, el 25 de agosto de 1914, las tropas invasoras alemanas cometieron una masacre de la población civil en la aldea, donde 69 personas perdieron la vida. La aldea fue incendiada, solo 8 de las 138 viviendas se salvaron. En la aldea, tres monumentos recuerdan este evento: el monumento a los caídos en la plaza del municipio, una columna junto a la iglesia y un lugar conmemorativo en la entrada del pueblo, en el sitio de la masacre.
