Ciergnon es una sección y un pueblo de la comuna belga de Houyet situados en la Región Valona en la provincia de Namur.
El nombre de Ciergnon encontraría su origen en el nombre latino "Serenius", un señor galo-romano que habría hecho construir su villa[réf. necesaria]. 1139 Serenium 1351 Seregnon Villa de Serenius o lugar claro o mejor arroyo claro - En el descenso de la iglesia actual y del monumento a los caídos de la guerra se encuentra un pequeño prado que conserva las huellas de una antigua torre, foso circular fangoso. El lugar se denomina "la torre", pronunciado en lenguaje coloquial: "la Tou".
