El terreno a lo largo del Heulebeek en Kuurne, con una superficie de alrededor de 2 ha, es un residuo de tierras de valle húmedas que se han utilizado desde tiempos inmemoriales como pastos y campos de heno. A través de la zona hay un sendero de 700 m de largo. Especialmente el campo de juncos y el área de los dos estanques tienen un gran valor biológico. La gestión se centra, entre otras cosas, en mantener algunos espacios abiertos en el bosque para preservar la vegetación de los antiguos prados húmedos (flor de ranúnculo, flor de pentecostés, verdadera flor de cuco…). El dominio también sirve como área de inundación para el Heulebeek, lo que puede dificultar su acceso en invierno de forma periódica. Hay accesos en la calle Veldm. Montgomerystraat, Beeklaan y Merelhoek.
