De la iglesia gótica del siglo XV-XVI, se ampliaron las naves laterales en el siglo XIX y en 1910 se elevó la torre según un diseño de Hyacinth Martens y Victor Lenertz. En 1934, la iglesia fue ampliada hacia el este desde el transepto según un diseño de K. Gessler (Maaseik), mediante dos tramos de transepto, perpendiculares al antiguo coro, un nuevo coro, una capilla lateral y una sacristía.
