Ubicado en el Condroz, al sur de Ciney, justo encima de la reserva natural de Marie-Mouchon, el sitio consiste en una cadena de 5 estanques que se encuentran dentro del bosque de las Cresses. Estas aguas son propiedad del municipio de Ciney y se utilizan de manera bastante extensiva para la pesca. Algunos tienen una vegetación interesante, especialmente bordes de cañaverales y áreas pantanosas, así como plantas acuáticas. El estanque superior, que se seca regularmente, muestra grupos de especies de lodo expuestas. Este forma parte de la reserva natural de la Plaine d'Ychippe, así como algunos pequeños parcelas adyacentes.
