El Rietbeemd es una reserva natural reconocida que trasciende la frontera lingüística en el valle del Mark, en los límites de las Ardenas Flamencas en el sureste de Flandes y el norte de Henao.
La zona natural se encuentra en parte en el territorio de la ciudad de Geraardsbergen y continúa a través de la frontera lingüística en Valonia como reserva natural "Les Prés Rosières" en el Lessen de Henao. La reserva de 80 ha fue fundada en 1987 y abarca la parte sin edificaciones de la Marke. La reserva forma parte de la Red Ecológica Flamenca. Está reconocida como zona Natura 2000 europea BE2300005 en el lado flamenco y como zona Natura 2000 BE3200005 en el lado valón. Se gestiona en el lado flamenco por Natuurpunt y en el lado valón por la "Ligue Royale Belge pour la Protection des Oiseaux".
