El Borinage es una zona en la provincia valona de Hainaut en Bélgica. El nombre deriva de las minas de carbón de la región, bore que significa pozos mineros. En francés, los habitantes del Borinage se llaman Borains. La capital provincial, Mons, se encuentra al este del Borinage, pero había una gran diferencia sociológica entre los habitantes de Mons y los Borains de todos los pueblos alrededor de Mons.
