El velero Mercator realizó no menos de 54 viajes. El barco museo ha estado en Ostende desde 1964 y puede descubrir la historia de este tres maestros a bordo. Es un monumento protegido y quizás el barco más famoso de Bélgica, con muchos miles de visitantes cada año.
