El monasterio fue fundado en 1626 por decreto de Fernando de Bavière, príncipe obispo de Lieja.
El objetivo principal era la educación de la juventud . Realmente no cobró vida hasta 1633. Sus primeros huéspedes, que luego se convertirían en sus principales benefactores, fueron las tres hermanas Isabelle, Catherine y Claude d'Oyembrughe, de Duras. Proporcionaron un importante apoyo financiero y donaron numerosas propiedades al monasterio. Esto le dio un importante valor financiero dentro del Ducado .
En 1794, tras la dispersión de las hermanas impuesta por la Revolución Francesa, el edificio se vendió como bien nacional y luego se transformó progresivamente en viviendas e incluyó una escuela técnica para la formación de los trabajadores de las fábricas metalúrgicas de Devillez-Camion. El edificio original del monasterio y la fábrica estaban muy cerca uno del otro.
El edificio del monasterio está clasificado desde 1991. En 1998 albergó el “Arqueoscopio Godofredo de Bouillon” .
