Se trata de una antigua parada de las procesiones parroquiales , que sustituye al lugar de descanso original en el patio del antiguo monasterio de los Recollets.
Este potale fue construido en 1805 por la familia Bernard.
Según algunos, el Cristo de madera que se encuentra en este potale era originalmente el de la capilla del Monasterio de los Recollets de Sougné, salvado antes de que el edificio fuera vendido como bien nacional por la joven República Francesa necesitada de dinero; Según otros, este Cristo fue copiado para que coincida con el original. De todos modos, el Cristo actual lo reemplazó porque estaba muy dañado.
