Baesweiler [con e de alargamiento, pronunciado: ˈbaːsˌvaɪlɐ] es una ciudad de tamaño mediano perteneciente a la región de la ciudad de Aachen en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. Durante un corto período, la minería marcó la ciudad y llevó a un rápido aumento de la población.
El área se conoce como la Börde de Jülich y se encuentra en la Bahía de Colonia, lo que se debe a una composición del suelo a base de loess. Durante las glaciaciones, los glaciares se adentraron en esta bahía y trituraron las rocas que habían traído desde el norte. Tras el deshielo, quedó una capa fértil de tierra.
