El Katharinenhof de Kranenburg albergó un convento de hermanas desde 1446 hasta 1802. Después de varios usos intermedios, los edificios sirven como museo desde 1961.
En 1445, Henrik Housteen, maestro de cocina del duque de Cleves, donó una casa en la Mühlenstraße en Kranenburg al convento de hermanas en Kleve para fundar una sucursal, que fue establecida con permiso ducal al año siguiente. En 1472, las hermanas de Kranenburg adoptaron la regla de San Agustín. En 1802, el monasterio de Santa Catalina fue secularizado.
