Núremberg[2] es una ciudad en la región de Franconia, en el estado de Baviera, Alemania, a orillas del río Pegnitz en Franconia Central con 516 770 habitantes en el año 2014.[3]
La ciudad es conocida desde el año 1050 y se puede llegar a ella por vía fluvial, terrestre o aérea, ya que además de carreteras nacionales cuenta con un puerto y un aeropuerto internacional. Su casco histórico le confiere un atractivo especial, al estar rodeado por una muralla medieval de más de 5 km construida en 1325. Esta muralla fue la tercera que se construyó debido al crecimiento de su población al paso de los años a fin de garantizar la seguridad de la ciudad, ya que en ella desde 1424 hasta 1796 se custodiaban las reliquias y los símbolos y joyas imperiales. En el casco histórico quedan muy pocos restos de la primera y la segunda muralla.
