La fundación de la Aluminiumwerk Unna AG se remonta al año 1914, cuando diez empresarios de Unna se unieron y fundaron la Messingwerk Aktiengesellschaft. En 1915, comienza la producción en la planta de Unna, en la que aún se produce en parte hoy en día.
