La Freudenburg es la ruina de un castillo espolón en un prominente cerro del Eiderberg al final de las calles Burg y Balduinstraße, dentro de la comunidad de Freudenburg en el distrito de Trier-Saarburg en Renania-Palatinado.
La instalación del castillo se encuentra en la cima de un saliente rocoso con forma de bugado a una altitud de 440 m sobre el nivel del mar, que está separado del pueblo por un foso artificial. Este es el único acceso al castillo. La estructura, que forma un triángulo isósceles, ofrece una imagen impresionante con los muros exteriores de tres pisos que se elevan sobre el borde de la roca.
