La fábrica de vidrio Wisthoff es una fábrica de vidrio que se encuentra desde 1971 en el valle del Ruhr, en el distrito Horst de Essen. Fue fundada en Steele. Como parte actual del grupo Gerresheimer, se considera la probablemente empresa industrial más antigua en el área de la actual ciudad de Essen.
El 17 de febrero de 1723, Federico Guillermo I aprobó la construcción de la fábrica de vidrio de privilegio real en la entonces rural comuna de Königssteele y fue privilegiada en 1727. Dado que ya se extraía carbón de piedra en el valle del Ruhr, la fábrica de vidrio fue una de las primeras en el oeste de Alemania que pudo producir utilizando este combustible. Esto, y la cercanía al Ruhr, se contaron entre las ventajas del lugar en el aún estructuralmente débil Steele.
