El Ryck es un río de 30,7 km de longitud en el este de Meclemburgo-Pomerania Occidental, que desemboca en Greifswald en la Bahía Danesa como parte del Bodden de Greifswald.
El nombre se deriva de la palabra polabiana Rjeka o Rěka que significa "río". En documentos del siglo XIII también se mencionan los nombres "Reke" y "Hilda". "Hilda" es el nombre más antiguo registrado del río; un documento de 1241 se refiere al "Hildam fluvium". Aunque la mención documental más antigua del monasterio como "Hilda" es de 1199 y, por lo tanto, es más antigua, se puede suponer que el monasterio fue nombrado por el río y no al revés.
