El Salm es un afluente por la izquierda del Mosela en Eifel. Nace cerca de Gerolstein y desemboca después de 63 km en el Mosela cerca de Klüsserath.
La abadía de Himmerod en Grosslittgen se encuentra en el valle del Salm.
El curso medio del río solía formar la frontera entre el área del condado/duquesado de Luxemburgo y el principado de Tréveris.
El curso bajo fluye a través de la Mosel, la región vinícola del Mosela.
