La biblioteca pública de Nordhausen es una biblioteca pública bajo la responsabilidad de la ciudad de Nordhausen en Turingia y sirve como centro de información, cultura y educación. Lleva el nombre del escritor nordhauseño Rudolf Hagelstange y se encuentra en el "Bürgerhaus" inaugurado en 2014.
El 10 de febrero de 1877, la biblioteca popular de Nordhausen fue fundada por asociaciones y ciudadanos de la ciudad. Una donación de la Fundación Jacob-Plaut en 1905 permitió una expansión. En 1906, la biblioteca se trasladó al museo municipal en el Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz, donde reabrió en 1907. Recibió el nombre de Biblioteca Popular Jacob-Plaut, que mantuvo hasta 1933. Con el año 1934, la institución inició una existencia ambulatoria sin precedentes que continuó hasta 1952. El edificio en Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz volvió a ser necesario para fines escolares y la biblioteca se mudó a Ritterstraße 3. Los años siguientes trajeron más mudanzas. Con el inicio de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la biblioteca fue cerrada y los libros fueron almacenados en el Antiguo Ayuntamiento. Sin embargo, en noviembre de 1939, fue reabierta de nuevo en el "Casa Rosenthal", por orden del ministerio correspondiente; la casa fue completamente destruida en los bombardeos sobre Nordhausen en abril de 1945, perdiéndose casi todos los 9000 libros.
