La cantera Grandi es una cantera en la sierra de Ardey en Herdecke junto al Ruhr. Es una de las últimas cuatro canteras en la cuenca del Ruhr en las que se extrae arenisca de Ruhr. En 1900, solo en Herdecke había 20 canteras, con un total de aproximadamente 300 trabajadores. Los usos incluyen suelos, losas, escalones de bloque, estructuras de escaleras, alféizares, lápidas y fabricaciones a medida, hasta su uso en la renaturalización de arroyos. Ejemplos son la fachada del Museo Municipal de Werne. La empresa Grandi se remonta al constructor de túneles Felice Grandi de Italia, quien llegó con su familia a Herdecke en 1905. Arrendó la cantera; en 1945 la familia adquirió la cantera y la gestiona en cuarta generación.
