Requena es un municipio español situado en la Meseta de Requena-Utiel en la parte interior occidental de la provincia de Valencia, en el interior de la Comunidad Valenciana. Entre los siglos XIII y XIX perteneció a Castilla, en concreto a la extensa provincia de Cuenca y por ello su territorio es conocido como la Valencia Castellana. Su término municipal se extiende por una gran parte de la cuenca superior del río Magro y es uno de los más extensos de España con una superficie de 814 km², siendo el mayor término municipal de la Comunidad Valenciana. Cuenta con 20 405 habitantes .
