Municipio español de la comarca de la Vega Baja del Segura, al sur de la provincia de Alicante, a caballo entre el histórico reino de Valencia y el de Murcia. Se encuentra entre el río Segura y a los pies de la sierra de Callosa. Pertenece a la Comunidad Valenciana. Se sitúa a 53 kilómetros de la capital provincial.
