La Matanza de Acentejo es un municipio perteneciente a la provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, en la isla de Tenerife —Canarias, España—.
El municipio toma su nombre de su capital administrativa, que a su vez procede del recuerdo de la batalla habida en esta zona entre castellanos y guanches durante la conquista de la isla en el siglo xv, en la que los segundos derrotaron a los primeros.[1]
