Linares es una ciudad[7] y municipio español perteneciente a la provincia de Jaén, en la comunidad autónoma de Andalucía. Es el segundo municipio más poblado de la provincia, ya que cuenta con 56 525 habitantes según el padrón municipal del INE de 2021.[8] El término municipal linarense abarca una extensión de 197,5 km² y en su interior se ubican tanto la ciudad de Linares como la entidad local autónoma de la Estación de Linares-Baeza.[9]
