El Astillero , también conocido simplemente como Astillero,[2] es un municipio y localidad de la comunidad autónoma de Cantabria . Su situación está determinada geográficamente por las rías que lo rodean: la ría de Solía, la de ría del Carmen y la de Astillero . Se encuentra ubicado entre los términos municipales de Camargo, Villaescusa, Piélagos, Medio Cudeyo y Marina de Cudeyo. Ubicado al pie de Peña Cabarga, se encuentra a 7,5 kilómetros de la capital de la comunidad, Santander, y está a 20 metros de altitud sobre el nivel del mar.
