Cabezón de la Sal es una villa, capital municipal y municipio español de la comunidad autónoma de Cantabria. Es también la cabecera de la comarca Saja-Nansa, una unidad supramunicipal de 681 km² de superficie y una población total de 8326 habitantes.Está situado en la hoz de Santa Lucía, horadada por el río Saja paralelamente a la sierra del Escudo de Cabuérniga. El término municipal limita al norte con los de Udías y Alfoz de Lloredo, al sur con Ruente y Mazcuerras, al este con el de Reocín y al oeste con Valdáliga.[1]
