Bot es un municipio de Cataluña, España. Perteneciente a la provincia de Tarragona, en la comarca de la Tierra Alta, situado en el centro de ésta, al SO. de Gandesa, de relieve muy accidentado por la presencia de las sierras de Pàndols y de Pesells.
Bot es un topónimo seguramente de origen ibérico. Si bien algún pseudoerudito del siglo XVIII dijo que Bot era un nombre derivado de buey , y de aquí que conste en su escudo municipal; y alguien también, de una bota de vino.
