Valdevimbre es un municipio[4] y villa española de la provincia de León, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. Se encuentra en la comarca del Páramo y cuenta con una población de 936 habitantes .El topónimo de Valdevimbre procede de la unión de los vocablos latinos vallis y vimen, -inis, cuyo significado es el de valle donde abundan plantas de rama flexible como el mimbre o el junco.[5]
