Villajoyosa[2] [3] es un municipio de la Comunidad Valenciana, España. Perteneciente a la provincia de Alicante y situado en la Costa Blanca, en la comarca de la Marina Baja, de la que es su capital, cuenta con 34 684 habitantes .
La localidad es llamada popularmente La Vila y podría tratarse de la antigua ciudad de Alonis.[4]
