Lloret de Mar es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Gerona, en Cataluña. Ubicado junto al mar Mediterráneo, en la Costa Brava, su población asciende a 38 402 habitantes . Pertenece a la comarca de la Selva.La extensión del término municipal es de 48,77 km² y está formado por el núcleo urbano y por una serie de vecindarios y urbanizaciones distribuidas a lo largo del municipio, que hacen que Lloret sea muy disperso a nivel territorial. La zona urbanizada ocupa en total 1473 ha y hay 39 urbanizaciones. Dentro de su término municipal se encuentran siete playas con un total de 7 km de costa que explican que Lloret sea uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes de Cataluña.[cita requerida]
