Granadilla de Abona es un municipio perteneciente a la provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, en la isla de Tenerife —Canarias, España—.
El nombre del municipio deriva de su capital administrativa, no conociéndose con exactitud el por qué de esta denominación. Algunos investigadores sugieren que le fue puesto por los colonizadores por el parecido con la región de Granada, en la Península Ibérica, mientras que otros proponen su origen en la presencia en la zona del arbusto endémico conocido como granadillo Hypericum canariense.[2][3][4]
