Mieres es un concejo de la comunidad autónoma de Asturias , y capital del partido judicial homónimo. Limita al norte con Ribera de Arriba, Oviedo y Langreo, al sur con Lena y Aller, al este con Langreo, San Martín del Rey Aurelio y Laviana y al oeste con Morcín y Riosa. Cuenta con una población de 37 026 habitantes .
