La presa de Palamós fue un episodio de la Guerra de los Nueve Años en territorio catalán. Palamós, villa portuaria, estaba amurallada a finales del siglo xvii y disponía de un castillo al sur de esta población y separada de ésta en lo que hoy se llama el Maset una punta costera. Palamós representaba la posibilidad de un punto de desembarco en el sur de Roses y un punto de control marítimo. Sin embargo su situación operativa era mejorable tal y como constata un informe de Ambrosio Borsano para la corona española.
Las circunstancias tácticas favorecieron los intereses franceses que controlaron con cierta facilidad y rapidez este punto entre mediados de 1694 hasta el año siguiente.
