La Real Federación Española de Fútbol es el organismo rector del fútbol en España. Fue fundada el 29 de septiembre de 1913, y tiene su antecedente directo en la «Federación Española de Clubs de Football», constituida en 1909.[3] Su sede se encuentra en Las Rozas de Madrid, donde se ubica la Ciudad del Fútbol, inaugurada el 12 de mayo de 2003.
La RFEF está afiliada a la Federación Internacional de Fútbol Asociación y a la Unión Europea de Asociaciones de Fútbol , los máximos organismos del fútbol a nivel mundial y europeo respectivamente, y al Comité Olímpico Español , en calidad de federación con deporte olímpico. En mayo de 2019, tenía 21 148 clubes inscritos y 1 063 090 futbolistas federados, siendo la federación deportiva con más licencias de España.[4]
