La Tarraconense fue una provincia romana y después visigoda de Hispania. Su capital fue la Colonia Iulia Urbs Triumphalis Tarraco,[1][2] la actual Tarragona, de la cual tomaba su nombre.
Fue una de las provincias más grandes del Imperio romano hasta finales del siglo III cuando la reorganización de Diocleciano desgajó la Cartaginensis y la Gallaecia de ella. A pesar de su gran tamaño, salvo las zonas de la costa mediterránea, estaba bastante despoblada y tenía un grado de urbanización menor que el resto de territorios hispanos.
