El conjunto monástico y eclesiástico de Santo Domingo es uno de los ejemplos más valiosos del patrimonio andaluz, cuya arquitectura combina elementos mudéjares, góticos y renacentistas .
Es un conjunto monumental que hoy incluye la iglesia y los monasterios , conjunto fundado en el año 1266.
El Capítulo era el lugar de encuentro de la Comunidad, donde se tomaban decisiones y se revisaba la vida monástica, el estudio y el apostolado.
El monasterio también contaba con un lugar de sepultura para los monjes , y alrededor del monasterio algunas estancias como el refectorio, la biblioteca y las aulas.
El monasterio acoge actualmente numerosas exposiciones.
