Denys Puech, gran premio de Roma en 1884, fue un eminente escultor académico. En 1910 decide construir un museo con sus fondos de talleres y donaciones de amigos pintores aveyroneses. Desde 1989, este museo es también el polo de la creación contemporánea a través de una programación de exposiciones temporarias. Esta colección contemporánea incluye obras de François Bouillon, Michel Cure, Martine Damas, Rolino Gaspari, Bernard Pagès, Carmen Perrin, Hervé Di Rosa...
