Vauquois es una población y comuna francesa, en la región de Lorena, departamento de Mosa, en el Distrito de Verdún y cantón de Varennes-en-Argonne.Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, en especial durante la Batalla de Verdún, se excavaron redes de túneles bajo Vauquois. Entre 1915 y 1918, tanto el ejército francés como el ejército alemán explotaron, usando minas, gran parte del terreno, que a día de hoy sigue marcado por varios cráteres y fosos.[7]
