La Ciudadela de Lille (Rijsel) se encuentra en medio de un parque urbano en las afueras del centro. La ciudadela fue construida por encargo de Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, después de que la ciudad fuera tomada por los franceses en 1667 bajo Luis XIV. La ciudadela es considerada la reina de todas las ciudadelas por su tamaño y atractivo. En el parque urbano, alrededor de la ciudadela, es un placer pasear. La ciudadela sigue siendo territorio militar y solo se puede visitar con reserva para grupos.
