En la antigua lavandería del instituto se explica a los visitantes cómo la vacuna, descubierta en el siglo XVII por Jenner y desarrollada en el XIX por Pasteur, pudo convertirse en una herramienta para la salud pública gracias a la investigación y a la industrialización impulsada por la familia Mériex en el siglo XX.
