Situado en Béarn, frente a los Pirineos, el castillo de Mascaraàs es un monumento histórico totalmente inscrito, tanto en el exterior como en el interior.
Reconstruido en los siglos XVI y XVII, sobre los restos de una fortaleza medieval, alberga el más importante y auténtico complejo interior del siglo XVIII en el norte de los Pirineos Atlánticos. Ofrece una visita guiada a una docena de habitaciones habitadas. Destacan sus excepcionales decoraciones de mármol (chimeneas, suelos, fuente), madera del siglo XVIII, frescos y papel pintado antiguo. El castillo contiene importantes muebles familiares de los siglos XVII y XVIII y obras de arte: esculturas de los siglos XIII al XVII, pinturas, grabados antiguos.... La gran biblioteca antigua tiene 1500 libros de antes de 1800. Por último, admirar la antigua cocina.
