La ciudad fortificada de Tardets fue fundada en 1299. Los cursos de agua cercanos crean una original plaza triangular, bordeada de soportales. Las coloridas fachadas están separadas por callejuelas y pasadizos que descienden hasta el río.
Las casas datan de los siglos XVII y XIX. El castillo Daguerre, que albergó el ayuntamiento y la escuela local durante varias décadas, presenta una bella fachada de estilo clásico. El frontón se erigió en el emplazamiento del parque. Todos los años se celebra el carnaval de Haute-Soule a finales del invierno, así como las fiestas del pueblo y la feria del queso en agosto.
