Porque a 827 m de altitud en el Macizo de los Vosgos, en el flanco norte del valle de la Moselotte, Haut du Tôt es la parroquia más alta del departamento de Vosgos. Sin embargo, no constituye un municipio, ya que ha sido arbitrariamente dividido por una línea norte-sur entre Vagney y Sapois. El pueblo está situado en la cresta norte de Sapois, pero está rodeado de picos que lo sobrepasan en unos cien metros, como el Droit du Tôt y, un poco más lejos, la Sotière y la Tête de la Neuve Roche.
